Three-Days Tours From Marrakech To Merzouga

  • 3 Days

A little settlement called Merzouga may be found on the outskirts of the Erg Chebbi Sahara Desert. The border with Algeria, where the paved road stops and the genuine sand dunes of the Sahara Desert begin, is only 20 kilometres from Merzouga. The most popular location in Morocco for camel treks and desert camping is the Merzouga desert. It is essential to ride a camel and spend the night in a berber tent or a luxury camp in order to enjoy the Saharan desert dunes. Arriving in the Sahara desert camp on camel takes around an hour across breathtaking red-orange sand dunes at dusk. Here, you'll be treated to a delicious meal and participate in a musical play with the staff around a roaring fire. But take note that it is at least

Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades
We will pick you up at 8 a.m. from your Riad or another convenient location to begin our 3-day, 2-night Merzouga desert tour from Marrakech. We will travel through the Tizi N Tichka pass of the High Atlas Mountains (2260 m), taking in the scenic mountainous road and the breathtaking Berber villages, before arriving at the Unesco World Heritage Site "Ait Benhaddou village," the fortified ksar with its lovely Kasbahs. Many film makers have used Ait Benhaddou as natural setting. A local guide will accompany you on a stroll across the river to the other side of the river where you will learn about The Ksar and ascend the hill through the narrow streets of Ait-ben-Haddou for an incredible view of the fertile Ounila.

Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Erfoud -Risani -Merzouga
After a traditional breakfast, our 3 days 2 nights Morocco Desert Tour to Merzouga begins with a drive down the Road of 1000 Kasbahs through the vibrant Berber settlements of the Dades Valley to Tineghir. A stunning valley with 15 kilometers of date palms that ends in breathtaking gorges that are frequently utilized for rock climbing. Green palm trees and Berber communities line the route leading to the Gorge of Todgha, where we climb through gorges that are around 300 meters high. After that, depending on how hungry you are, you can choose to eat lunch in Tinjdad or Touroug before we continue to the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara Desert. A little offroad leads you to the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes once you are there.

Day 3: Merzouga - Alnif - Tazarine - Agdez - Marrakech
One of the finest desert experiences is waking up early to see the dawn over Erg Chebbi's tallest dunes in Merzouga. After breakfast in the camp, you'll pack up and leave the dunes behind as you ride camels or drive a 4x4 back to camp. You will travel to Marrakech through Alnif, Tazarine, the Draa valley, Agdez, and Ouarzazate once you are back on asphalt. We will have free time in Ourazazate to have lunch and take pictures in front of the well-known Taourirt Kasbah. After that, we'll keep on to Marrakech, where your time in the Merzouga desert comes to an end. Between Ouarzazate and Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains and Berber villages are once more crossed. Drop-off at your lodging.
